About
It all started when…
Shane found a stash of Spiderman and Tales from the Crypt comics along with a dog-eared paperback of Tolkein’s The Hobbit, a dusty VHS cassette of John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China stashed in a box under a Miracord record player at a single-wide mobile home on the banks of the Eagle River in the Rocky Mountains.
Roeschlein is a storyteller with over a decade of experience in content development, video production and conversion optimization. Spearheading the music community site, themusicedge.com, Shane built a network of content creators and partners like the Vans Warped Tour and John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to promote the benefits of making music and drive customer engagement. He was awarded an industry Best in Show and Webby Award.
Ready for the next challenge, Shane joined Taylor Guitars as an online content and promotions manager. Working closely with designers, programmers and engineers, Shane spearheaded and relaunched the Taylorguitars.com website, app and an Addy award-winning custom guitar builder. He managed and built a vibrant community of music fans and customers through a series of collaborative promotions with Southwest Airlines, Danny Way, Tony Hawk, Guitar Center and high-profile musical acts like Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift and Black Sabbath.
Shane’s inaugural foray into sequential storytelling began with the successful crowd-supported kickstarter campaign for his debut original graphic novel, Caustic Soda – A year Future Narco Romance. The campaign raised 115% percent of the initial goal and sold out of its modest run of 350 copies.
As a marketing and digital expert, Shane has written and produced video, social and product content for Fender Guitars, NAMM and Project Mexico & St Innocent Orphanage.
Shane’s debut Original Graphic Novel with artist Dean Kotz (IMAGE, IDW, Boom!), The In-Between published by Insight Editions/Simon & Schuster is available at your local comic book shop and at online retailers.
Shane teamed up with artist Francine Delgado (The Comet, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Addams Family), for a one-shot short called Merci, which was part of the Lower Your Sights Anthology benefitting Ukraine from Mad Cave.
Shane trains and teaches Jiu Jitsu at 10th Planet Denver.

Lower Your Sights Anthology: Merci
I was invited to submit a story to the Lower Your Sights anthology by Mad Cave Studios (https://madcavestudios.com/) for Voices of Children (https://voices.org.ua/en/) to help raise awareness and proceeds for children impacted by the war in Ukraine. All earnings from the book’s sales are going directly to the Voices of Children foundation, a charitable organization based in Ukraine that provides women and children emergency housing, psychological assistance, and evacuation aid. This story is based on true events.

Original Pitch for IDW
*A few years ago I got to pitch a few story concepts to an editor at IDW. One of them got passed up the chain but ultimately due to the release of Solo and it’s bafflingly low popularity LucasArts pulled most of their ‘Adventures’ line. The line was for younger readers. Here’s the pitch. Vic Mahlotra did some cool character art too.
